Pyramids

 

Exercises of this type mainly focus on the smooth fret position change. The different sub-types are as follows (the names refer to scale shapes in the fretboard mirror images):

  1. Half-pyramid

  2. One-octave pyramid

  3. Two-octave pyramid

  4. Reversed half-pyramid

  5. Reversed one-octave pyramid

  6. Reversed two-octave pyramid

These are all advanced level exercises. In case it is not enough, there are further possibilities, such as combining these pyramid-shape exercises with the scale patterns.
